Release Focused Training in Warwick

Release Focused Training with Shane Ransley

Where:  Warwick Horse Trials grounds, Morgan Park

When:  10th & 11th November 2012

RFT is open to any level so no requirement to have passed any, but the more advanced you are the more you will get out of it.

Release Focused Training, building softness, lightness, confidence, willingness and flexion.
This clinic will provide an overview of how the Quantum Savvy Program can help you reach your goals in whatever equine pursuit or discipline you follow; what true softness and flexion in horses really is, and where it comes from naturally. It will leave you with clear path to follow after the clinic that will build confidence in horse and rider. The clinic will cover elements of Levels 1,2 and 3 and is open to all riders of any level.

A bit about Release Focus Training Clinics
Release Focus Training clinics cover elements of both ground and ridden work. Half day each day will be dedicated to first building skills, communication, connection and leadership on the ground to prepare for a better, safer and easier ridden partnership. All ridden components of good horsemanship begin on the ground from catching and leading a horse effectively, to schooling on longer lines and liberty. Each element has a specific purpose to develop our skills as horsemen as well as the confidence and true forward movement of the horse. This ultimately leads to a more successful ridden partnership.
The second half of each day is the ridden component where we apply what we have learned and achieved on the ground to in the saddle. Confidence, impulsion, collection and softness are our ultimate goals. Over the 2 days we’ll look all of these and how we communicate them to our horses through our seat, our rein positions and our focus.

Cost:    $360 for QS members,  $425 for non-members

Only 10 rider positions available

Monday, 25 July 2011

A good time was had by all at the Play Day held on 23rd July at Warwick Horse Trials grounds.

With a total of 8 participants which included 4 brand new first time QS'ers, we had a wonderful day.
In the morning we introduced the newbys to the Three Basic Skills & gave a bit of a demo on them & some One Rein riding.
After lunch we headed out onto the Cross Country course for a nice leisurely trail walk around, over & though some of the obstacles. none of the horses were fazed by anything we showed them & took it all in their stride. They went up & down the steps, into & out of the water, up over the hill & back down the other side, as well as jumping a few small jumps. Humans & horses seemed to enjoy it equally, & we're all glad to get out & do something different.

We are all lining up for the next PD to be held at WHT grounds again, on Saturday 30th July. We will go through our homework cards then head out on course again after lunch for another trail walk.
